It’s Taco Top Ten Tuesday! After last week’s topic revealed many many many unpopular opinions, we’re toning it down a bit with “Ten Books On My Spring TBR.” I think I’ve talked about it before, but I don’t have one long overflowing TBR list like many bookish peoples. Instead, I have a couple of different piles of books I need to read eventually. Considering the fact that I’ve already deviated tremendously from the TBR list we shared back in January, you really shouldn’t hold me to any of these.
Fair warning, I’m not going to list too many new releases because I’m not really waiting on anything other than Saga which comes out in July, thankyouverymuch. Now, on with the show!
Ten Random Books I Picked Out of My Closest TBR Pile
A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
I talk about the first book of the ASOIAF series all of the time. I’m also finally a little bit over what George did in A Game of Thrones, so I feel like I can press on. I recently picked audiobook up from my library (all 31 disks). Needless to say, it may be quite some time before I actually finish.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab
I’m finally allowing the Schwab hype to wash over me, and I’m ready to jump into this series everyone keeps ranting about. You better not be letting me down, guys
More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
I don’t recall how I stumbled across this author, but I’m so ready to read this book. (Or not… I heard it was a bit sad which is why I’m waiting. Gotta be in a mood.)
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
First things first, this author is an absolute sweetheart. Second, I’ve been seeing this book everywhere, and it’s finally out in the U.S.! I’m actually the first one to have checked it out from my library ;) However, this means I need to read it… like… right now before I have to give it back. I hear there’s a sharpshooter involved. So, my attention is already grabbed.
Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
I gave into the hype. I bought the book back in February. And… I have yet to do anything with it other than remove the pretty dust jacket. I also want to finish this before BookCon in May since the lovely Alexandra will be there.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
See above, sans the removing of the dust jacket because I managed to snag the paperback of this. God bless.
Kindred by Octavia Butler
I’ve always wanted to read this book. As it so happens, this is one of the #ReadWomen Book Club books of the month that I committed to reading… that I still haven’t started yet. So much for finding a reason to kick my ass into gear, huh?
Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater
It almost pains me to have to add this one back to the list because I couldn’t continue moving through the it when I picked it up a couple of weeks ago. I guess, I have to be in a certain mood for these books or something. But The Raven King (the fourth and final installment of the series) comes out in April. I’ll finally get to witness Gansey’s death which means I just have to suck it up and keep on trucking to finish this one by the end of April.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
It all started because I wanted to read Six of Crows. As you may or may not know, Bardugo’s Grisha Trilogy came out first. While the author has stated that you don’t need to have read the trilogy to read Six of Crows, she did admit that it would spoil some things from the trilogy. So, here I am. Reading the damn trilogy because I don’t want to be spoiled for anything at any time.
The Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman
Man. Laziness is the only reason I haven’t read this yet. I can’t even lie. Sorry, Papa Neil. >_<
So… Got any good new reads for the spring? Also, if you’ve read any of these, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I literally JUST finished A Darker Shade of Magic, and I am now in that numb state where you don’t know how you can possibly continue to live in your own boring world after you finish your new favorite book. I hope you end up liking it as well!

Literally every book on this list is on my TBR, so I couldn’t give you any deterring or encouraging feedback – I hope you enjoy them though, especially 31 disk of A Clash of Kings :D

LOL! The gifs you used give me so much life! Hope you have a better time with An Ember in the Ashes than I did…damn that one was tough to get through. And let me know how Passenger goes! I’m avoiding it like the plague due to all the hype. Great list!

Haha. Thanks! I’ve been hearing some mixed reviews about An Ember in the Ashes, but one of these days I’ll actually pick it up… If other books will kindly get out of my way and let me get back to my TBR. Right?! I usually like to let the hype die down before diving into something, but I’ve remained mostly oblivious to everything about Passenger, so maybe I’ll be fine. Who know? I’ll let you know, though!

Good choices. Passenger was on mine until I heard about the love triangle. Then it got promptly removed. My Spring TBR

Uh ohs. Time to shove this one to the back. I don’t think I’m in the right state of mind to deal with a love triangle (and it’s hard to determine if I’ll ever be in such a state ever again. lol)

I keep hearing this, and I am seriously so ready to get started… Also, it was the book of the month for Uppercase which I like to take as a sign that I really need to kick it into high gear and read it right now.
Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of great ones on there! (And no worries…. my list has zero brand new releases on it as well. So many things to read already!)

There are way too many books out there and not enough time to read everything. If only there were more hours in the day… or less important things to be done. I’ll, of course, take either scenario ;)
