Week in Review [3]

This Past Week in Review with BookensteinBlog

A Week in the Life

This post will be covering two weeks (because I’m a godsdamn slacker), so please bear with me. I promise not much has really been going down, so I won’t get to plague your eyes for too long.

The week before last, I didn’t do much… See? I told you this wasn’t going to be painful. I went to work, stopped by the library again to get the second book in The Raven Cycle, and stayed home like the bum I am. I only really stepped outside of my norm on Saturday and went to Half Price Books for the first time all month. Ugh. Putting myself on a slight book ban was painful, but I didn’t go buck wild in the store this time. I only bought six books. Aren’t you proud of me?

Sunday, I had my “final exam” in the self-defense class I took for three weeks and got to kick my teacher’s ass. It was definitely a great stress release. There’s video, and I managed to get my ex-cop instructor on the ground, so… Basically, I’m deadly and you shouldn’t mess with me.

Aside from my eventful Sunday, I had a stressful week of work. Seriously, just terrible. However, remember that car accident I told you guys about two weeks ago? Well, they fixed my baby! He’s (yes, my car is a precious bby boy) almost as good as new. You literally cannot tell that the whole front was smooshed in. He rides a bit weird for now, but hopefully that changes. I mean, my car hasn’t really been touched in 3+ weeks. He just needs to get back into the swing of things is all. Hopefully.

LAST AND DEFINITELY NOT LEAST… DISNEY ON ICE THIS SATURDAY!

A Week in Reading

Just Finished:
The Rest of Us Just Live Here:
The Darkest Passion: 1⁄2

Currently Reading:

Witches by Roald Dahl
I am fucking obsessed. Roald Dahl is an unsung hero, and I have no clue how this one managed to escape my notice. I’m listening to the audio, though, and that’s kind of painful…

The Darkest Lie by Gena Showalter
I am slogging through this one. I can admit that. This is definitely not my favorite book in the Lords of the Underworld series. And I’m half-tempted to just let it go.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Yes, still… I’m not even halfway through (not completely my fault), and I will probably have a post coming up about that this week.
