Okay. I don’t think this will be a weekly occurrence because, I’m going to be completely honest with you… there will be times when this blog isn’t as active as it happens to be right now. You know, because life.
As it so happens, though, I’ve been quite the busy bee since this blog’s launch on the first (I’ve survived 10 days already? No way!). At the risk of rambling on and on about what a time it’s been in the blogosphere so far, I’ll just get down to business to defeat the Huns! HUU!
A Week in the Life
Last week was a pretty bland week for me. You’ll discover that is pretty much the norm, though. I somehow managed to make it through Hell Week at work (catching up from two shortened holiday weeks is hard, and I do not recommend). I also managed to finish not one but two books that were chilling out in my sparkly new TBR pile (A Scandal in Spring by Lisa Kleypas and Cinder by Marissa Meyer — both solid 4-Creature Ratings with reviews forthcoming).
Yes, I have a lot of different TBR piles, okay? Don’t judge me bro. I can’t be expected to read EVERYTHING.
In other news, Lunarthon is off to a great start because I FINALLY STARTED AND FINISHED CINDER (way earlier than I was supposed to according to the schedule… whoops). WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HOLD MY HAND? It was a surprisingly quick read, and I actually loved it so fucking much that I’m still experiencing some residual embarrassment on Cinder’s behalf. Seriously, that girl was a mess and she had me like this the whole time.
But I digress. That review is forthcoming. I’m giving my emotions some time to cool off. Just know that I didn’t hate it, and I’m currently waiting on my library to get Scarlet back before I locate my nearest bookstore and just buy it like the reckless hoe I am.

I just checked out the PopSugar reading challenge. While I like the idea of it, I don’t like feeling like I have to read books that I don’t want to read. I know I don’t HAVE to, but I’ll feel like I have to. But I guess challenges aren’t made to be easy…

I definitely get that. Normally, I steer clear of anything that confines me reading-wise. This year, I thought it would be fun to expand my reading scope a bit because I can admit I usually only stick close by the same few authors and rarely venture out of my comfort zone.
Hopefully, though, this doesn’t turn into a chore. Because then I’ll have to bow out gracefully.

Good luck finishing City of Bones. I really enjoyed those books but they are lengthy!

Thank you! They are definitely lengthy. I have the first two, so we’ll see.
